The STC and the WA Sustainable Energy Association organised a one-day workshop on biofuels and bioenergy on Friday 10 February, 2006.

The high cost of oil, resource sustainability and climate change are all factors which are highlighting the need to examine alternative fuel and energy options. This one day conference featured speakers from Government, Parliament, research centres and the private sector who covered a range of topics dealing with Government policy, research findings, commercial realities and environmental concerns of biofuels and bioenergy.

The Keynote Address breakfast featuring Hon Kim Chance, Minister for Agriculture and Forestry. In this opening address pdf bioenergy 46.75 Kb, the Minister discussed the aims and objectives of the recently established Biofuels Taskforce and outline specific initiatives the Government is undertaking in the areas of developing Western Australia’s Biofuel and Bioenergy industries.
