Jetstar to start regional WA flights in bid to cut fares

Jetstar may start operations within WA to cut airfares, but Australia’s largest airline group has warned that regional airports need to cut fees. Qantas Domestic chief executive Andrew David told the Economics and Industry Standing Committee inquiry into airfares within WA that the group was looking at deploying the Jetstar operation within WA to “address some of the challenges that currently exist”.

From a small batch of oil distilled from Sydney peppermint gum sent to England by First Fleet Surgeon-General John White, an industry grew around the use of the oil for medicinal and industrial purposes. But a range of cutting-edge new uses for plant-based oils appear set to give this old dog some new tricks, potentially jolting the local eucalyptus oil industry out of its sleepy niche and into the high-tech limelight.

Last coal-fired power generator in South Australia switched off
